Meeting FMCSA Requirements

In an effort to fulfill their mission of creating and enforcing regulations designed to improve the safety of American roadways, FMCSA requires that official DOT physical examinations be conducted by licensed medical examiners. The DOT Physicals must be renewed every 24 months and the renewals must be conducted by the licensed medical examiners as well. In order to secure a commercial vehicle state license, the thorough physical exam is required.

What Services Are Provided?

When health professionals of HealthWorks-WNY perform physicals, they screen the applicant for any medical conditions that would preclude them from safely operating a commercial vehicle. Both current and pre-existing medical conditions are accounted for during the DOT Physical, which has been custom developed to comply with state and federal regulatory requirements.

In addition to providing DOT Physicals, HealthWorks-WNY also offers assistance with securing any additional documentation that is required in order to secure the license. During an exam the medical examiner and support staff will review the driver's medical history, conduct a thorough physical exam, and review the driver's DOT medical card.
