Coronavirus COVID-19 Outbreak

HealthWorks-WNY is following the most recent recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the NYS Department of Health (DOH).

If you have traveled outside Western New York, please inform our clinical staff member upon entering our facilities.

If you have a fever and chills, sore throat, cough or difficulty breathing, loss of taste and/or smell then please contact your personal care physician for further instructions before arriving for your scheduled appointment at HealthWorks.

Effective Tuesday, March 17, 2020, HealthWorks also began following the most recent NYS DOH and Federal guidelines regarding social distancing in the workplace, and we have been limiting our common waiting room area to a maximum of no more than 10 patients at any time.  This may potentially curtail our ability to see walk-in patients.  If it does then the patient or employee may be given an appointment time for later that same day or the following day depending on our scheduled patient volume.

Also, please be advised that we have been checking temperatures of our entire office and clinic staff at the start of each clinic day as well as checking the temperatures of all patients before they enter our facilities.  Individuals who are found to be febrile will not be seen, and instead will be instructed to contact their personal care physician for necessary follow up and/or further instructions.

Suspension of Spirometry Testing

During the current outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) is advising suspension of routine spirometry testing, unless it is determined to be clinically essential by an occupational physician or a pulmonologist, due to the significant risk of transmitting COVID-19 with this particular procedure.  Following the advice of ACOEM, effective Tuesday, March 17, 2020, HealthWorks-WNY will be temporarily suspending spirometry testing until it has been deemed officially appropriate to safely reintroduce this procedure into our practice.  Please note that you always have the option of allowing your employee or job candidate to return to our clinic to complete their spirometry test after the suspension has been lifted.
