Buffalo Spirometry Testing

HealthWorks WNY strives to provide the most well-rounded and thorough occupational health testing in Buffalo.  We ensure that all of our clients are able to receive the health testing that they deserve, and that testing is completed to the satisfaction that is required by the law.  One of the most important services we offer is Pulmonary Health Testing, which includes Buffalo Spirometry Testing.

Spirometry is one of the most common pulmonary tests, measuring basic lung functioning, more specifically, the amount of air that a person can inhale and exhale. Spirometry testing is most useful in identifying and assessing conditions such as asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, cystic fibrosis, and COPD.  Our Buffalo spirometry testing services are offered at any of our three convenient locations, or as part of our mobile, on-site services.

Spirometry Testing in Buffalo

Buffalo Spirometry TestingThe most basic spirometry test is what is known as forced volume vital capacity, (or FVC), and is administered using a spirometer. Our Buffalo spirometry testing is easily administered, and only takes a few moments. The patient is asked to breathe in as much as possible, and then exhale as hard as possible, for as long as possible, into the spirometer. The test results are then displayed as graphs, known as spirograms.  The spirograms display two distinct comparisons:

  • Volume-Time Curve: The x-axis displays volume, and the y-axis displays time.
  • Flow-Volume Loop: Displays the rate of airflow on the y-axis, versus the total volume of air inhaled, or exhaled.

Don't forget, we offer a variety of pulmonary testing, as well as many other health testing services.  With three convenient locations in the Buffalo area, we are always ready to serve you.  Also, our mobile health testing unit is able to perform many of our tests right on your job site.

If you are interested in our Buffalo spirometry testing, or any of our other occupational health testing service in Buffalo, please do not hesitate to contact us at any time.
