Consortium Management for Random Drug and Alcohol Testing

HealthWorks-WNY provides consortium management services for both DOT and Non-DOT Programs. All randomizations are computer generated.

DOT Random Drug and Alcohol Program:
In order for your company to meet the Department of Transportation (DOT) rule, 49 CFR Part 40 of the Federal Guidelines, your company must be enrolled in a random drug and alcohol testing program. HealthWorks-WNY offers consortium management services for both small and large companies and for DOT and non-DOT companies. And as a consortium manager, HealthWorks-WNY will work hard to stay informed of the steps required to comply with the law and any changes that might be enacted. HealthWorks-WNY can help companies achieve a drug and alcohol program that complies with the law and is effective in reducing workplace drug and alcohol abuse.

HealthWorks-WNY works with Designated Employer Representatives (DER's) to enroll and maintain participation in a random drug and alcohol testing program. We will provide proof of enrollment, selections, semi-annual compliancy reports as well as audit assistance and support.

DOT Agencies require employers covered under their regulations to have policies in place that fully explain their drug and alcohol program. Not only must you have policies, but you must also make them available to employees covered under your DOT program.

Non-DOT employers are also strongly encouraged to have written policies in place fully explaining their drug and alcohol program. These policies must be available to all employees and can reduce the company's chances of litigation arising from instances where employees test positive for either drugs and/or alcohol.

Our MRO's are always available for your questions regarding drug and alcohol testing. For more information, please call our Business Office at 716.712.0670 ext 5.
